The role
In the product development laboratory in Zaandam, you will prepare samples in response to customer requests and support projects to improve products and processes involving edible oils and fats. You will combine analytical work with laboratory-scale production processes and work with the product development team and manager.
Responsibilities
- Accurately carry out chemical and instrumental analyses and report results and trends.
- Perform production processes at laboratory scale, blend products and prepare samples in small and larger quantities.
- Conduct sensory analyses.
- Carry out the laboratory calibration and maintenance programme in collaboration with the manager.
- Record analytical and process data in the laboratory information system.
- Label samples correctly and prepare them for dispatch to customers.
- Guide the product development team in collaboration with the manager.
Your profile
- A relevant diploma at Dutch MBO 3, MLO 4 or HLO level, or equivalent, for example in food technology or analytical chemistry.
- An affinity for food production.
- Some experience in an analytical department, including internship experience; several years' experience, preferably in a food industry organisation, is an advantage.
- Experience with laboratory standards and GC and/or HPLC. Experience with edible oils is an advantage.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; pragmatic, flexible and willing to learn.
- Good spoken and written communication in Dutch and/or English, with at least basic spoken and written English.
