Help collect and prepare food products for distribution in Wateringen. This volunteer role is 4–16 hours per week, with availability on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday preferred.
The role
At our client in Wateringen, you will volunteer in the warehouse, helping prepare food products for distribution. You will work with other volunteers and help get food to people who need support.
Your tasks will include:
- Picking products from delivery notes, including fruit and vegetables, chilled and frozen goods, and grocery items.
- Placing products on pallets and wheeled carts, then staging them in the correct area of the warehouse.
- Applying the correct address labels to orders.
- Unpacking and repacking incoming products and putting them in the right place.
- Occasionally accompanying food deliveries to distribution points as a helper.
- Helping keep the warehouse clean, safe and organised, and taking on other tasks as needed.
Schedule
The volunteer role is 4 to 16 hours per week; a single half-day per week is also welcome. Work takes place during the day. The warehouse is open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. Availability on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday is preferred. Work times are flexible and arranged around your availability.
What you bring
You are keen to get hands-on, have a positive and cooperative attitude, enjoy teamwork and are physically able to carry out warehouse tasks.
Some warehouse experience or experience using a pallet truck is an advantage, but previous experience is not always necessary. A forklift certificate is a plus. If you do not have one, training can be provided.
