Work outdoors at a production site in Amsterdam, moving and preparing precast hollow-core concrete slabs, operating forklifts and cranes, and sawing slabs. Two-shift work; a category B licence, forklift certificate and hoisting certificate are required.
The role
As an outdoor yard logistics worker, you will work mainly outside in the storage yard at a production site in Amsterdam. You will move, handle and prepare precast hollow-core concrete floor slabs for transport. You will operate large equipment, including a forklift, a yard crane and other logistics machinery. You will also cut the slabs with a concrete saw; training in this task is provided on the job.
Your duties
- Move and store slabs, and track and record their locations in the yard.
- Prepare slabs for transport and operate forklifts, remotely controlled cranes and other logistics equipment.
- Cut concrete slabs with a concrete saw.
- Coordinate with colleagues, planners, drivers and transport companies.
- Report discrepancies, damage and unsafe conditions, and keep the yard safe, clean and orderly.
- Support production activities when needed.
Shift pattern
You will work a two-shift system with varying shifts. The late shift runs from 14:30 to 23:00.
What you bring
- VMBO/MBO education and an interest in technology.
- A category B driving licence, a forklift certificate and a hoisting certificate.
- The ability to speak, read and write Dutch at B1 level, or communicate in English orally and in writing, and understand work instructions and safety requirements.
- Previous experience operating a forklift, crane or industrial machinery is an advantage.
- A safe, accurate and practical approach, and a willingness to obtain additional certificates.
- Your own accommodation in the Netherlands is required.
