Work mainly on a forklift in Drachten and support warehouse loading, unloading and goods handling. A technical MBO-level qualification or logistics affinity is needed; metal or steel-construction experience is preferred. Training and career opportunities are available.
The role
As a logistics worker, you will mainly operate a forklift and also support colleagues in the warehouse. At our client company in Drachten, you will work with the logistics and warehouse team to ensure goods are handled safely and according to plan.
Your responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift (up to 10 tonnes), side loader, overhead crane or harbour crane.
- Pick and, where necessary, pack goods; ensure critical items reach internal departments on time.
- Handle deliveries in line with the production schedule and report discrepancies in deliveries or transport to the relevant department.
- Collect, sort and look after materials; prepare pallets for dispatch and move goods into and out of warehouse racking.
- Collect chemical and household waste from production and ensure it is disposed of properly.
- Keep the 5S boards complete, report issues to supervisors and regularly tidy the outdoor area.
What you bring
- A completed technical vocational qualification at MBO level or an affinity with logistics and warehouse work.
- Experience in metal or steel construction is preferred; knowledge of tools is also an advantage.
- Flexibility and the ability to switch easily between tasks.
- The ability to work independently and be service-oriented, stay organised and safety-conscious, and work well with a team.
- Valid forklift and overhead-crane certificates, or a willingness to obtain them.
- A willingness to obtain the lifting certificate needed to work with the harbour crane.
