Our client company in West Valley City is hiring an experienced forklift operator for distribution work. You will handle and check freight, use an RF scanner, and help load and unload trucks. Full-time, permanent role; $20.00–$22.50 per hour.
The role
At our client company’s distribution facility in West Valley City, you will move freight using a forklift, reach truck, pallet jack and hand truck. You will review freight manifests, sort shipments by route, stage them for dispatch, and help load and unload trucks. Other tasks include picking, packing, scanning, preparing kits and counting products. You will record overages, shortages and damage, keep processing accurate and timely, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday. The scheduled hours are either 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
What you bring
- Forklift operating experience; warehouse experience, preferably around one year.
- A forklift certificate is preferred.
- Experience using an RF scanner is required.
- Ability to safely use forklifts, pallet jacks and packing materials such as strapping and shrink wrap.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and speak, read and write English.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work well with others and with little supervision.
- Availability for overtime as needed and occasional weekend work.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach and lift overhead, and lift 50 lb or more without assistance.
