A client company in Plainfield is seeking a distribution warehouse operator. You will receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch orders. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 1:15 p.m.–10:00 p.m. (late shift), with hourly pay of $22.00–$27.50.
The role
For a client company in Plainfield, we are seeking a distribution warehouse operator. You will process orders and help ensure goods are received, stored and dispatched accurately.
Your duties include:
- Receive and ship materials and place them in the appropriate storage locations.
- Pick, pack, prepare and dispatch customer orders.
- Process orders in the warehouse inventory system and carry out cycle counts.
- Follow safety requirements, standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain product quality, and identify opportunities to improve productivity, compliance and data accuracy.
- Use at least two types of powered industrial equipment, such as a swing-reach truck, stand-up forklift, order picker, rider pallet jack or sit-down forklift.
Schedule
Sunday through Thursday, 1:15 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (late shift). You must be flexible to meet operational needs or cover shifts, and willing to work overtime at short notice.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience in a distribution warehouse.
- Experience with warehouse management systems such as SAP/Exacta, EWM systems and RF scanners.
- Experience operating different types of powered industrial equipment, with the ability to use at least two types.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and retain internal systems.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, reliability and good attendance.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn multiple assignments.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, and good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work in a supporting team role.
