Work in a technical wholesaler’s warehouse in Houten: process goods, prepare orders for dispatch and help customers collecting items. 24–40 hours per week in permanent employment, with the opportunity to progress to warehouse supervisor.
The role
You will work in the warehouse of our client company, a technical wholesaler in Houten, Utrecht province. During a short induction, you will learn about the other departments, products and logistics processes. You will then share responsibility for the full warehouse operation. Product knowledge is useful but not essential; you can learn the range by listening to product advice conversations and working with the sales team. The role offers the opportunity to progress to warehouse supervisor or other positions.
Responsibilities
- Check, register and put away incoming goods.
- Pick and pack outgoing orders, prepare them for dispatch and notify the carriers.
- Move reels, boxes and pallets using trolleys, pallet trucks and a forklift.
- Keep the warehouse orderly and tidy.
- Assist a few customers collecting items each day at the counter, answer their questions and, with support from the sales team, put together suitable product solutions; help process payments when needed.
What you bring
- A customer- and service-oriented approach, a practical and flexible attitude, and willingness to commit to a long-term role.
- Physical fitness for manual work, accuracy, and the ability to count and do calculations.
- Good communication skills in Dutch or English.
- Product knowledge is an advantage, not a requirement. Familiarity with data networks, the King software package, English and German, or experience with other technical products is a plus.
- A forklift certificate is an advantage.
