All-round logistics work in Horst, covering goods-in, order picking, packing and dispatch. You will use a forklift and overhead crane to load goods and help keep stock and the work area organised.
The role
At our client company in Horst, you will support the full logistics process in a production environment. You will handle incoming goods and storage, supply materials to production and prepare shipments. The role is varied, covering warehouse tasks and loading goods.
What you will do
- Unload lorries and check deliveries against delivery notes. Record the goods in the system and put them away in the correct warehouse locations.
- Pick materials and goods for in-house production, customer and project-site deliveries, and the spare-parts department; pack orders carefully.
- Label items by order or customer, prepare delivery notes and take photos of shipments.
- Load lorries, containers and low loaders using a forklift and overhead crane. Secure machinery and goods, make effective use of container space and distribute the load carefully.
- Manage stocks of pallets, packaging materials and load-securing straps.
- Use the forklift to move machinery, components and finished goods to their designated warehouse or project-storage locations.
- Look after the forklift and keep your work area tidy and safe. Liaise regularly with the logistics coordinator.
What you bring
- A completed Dutch MBO level 2 or 3 qualification; logistics or a technical subject is preferred.
- Experience in production logistics is an advantage. Applicants without previous logistics experience are also welcome if they are motivated, learn quickly and are comfortable with physical work.
- Forklift experience and a forklift certificate are preferred.
- Experience operating an overhead or lifting crane and loading lorries and containers is an advantage.
- Experience using a computerised inventory or logistics system and scanning goods.
- An interest in technology and production, and the ability to prepare materials for dispatch.
- Good spoken and written Dutch; knowledge of English is desirable.
- A practical, hands-on approach, with structured and accurate work, initiative and teamwork. You must be willing to work overtime and carry out physical tasks.
