Work on water quality, treatment processes and water installations, with a focus on industrial water or NTS data interpretation. 32–40 hours a week; €4,239–€5,877 gross per month at full-time.
The role
At our client company in Glimmen, you will work as a process technologist on water-quality and water-technology challenges. There are two positions with different focuses: one on industrial water; the other combines broader technology work with data interpretation using Non-Target Screening (NTS). You will take assignments from the initial question through to practical, well-supported recommendations, working closely with colleagues, clients, external knowledge partners and the laboratory.
What you’ll do
- Advise on efficient operations and optimize existing water installations.
- Support system choices and design criteria for future installations.
- Turn data, research findings and process knowledge into clear, practical recommendations.
- Identify and help deliver opportunities in innovation, sustainability and smarter water use.
- Work on projects and bring different disciplines and interests together.
- Work across the treatment of groundwater, surface water, industrial water and wastewater.
- In the NTS-focused role, help identify unknown and emerging substances, further develop NTS methods, and interpret measurement results in relation to water abstraction, water quality and drinking-water production. Connect chemical identification to toxicological information and evidence-based risk assessment.
Hours and shifts
The role is 32–40 hours per week. No specific shift pattern is provided.
What you bring
- A completed higher professional or university degree (HBO/WO) in a relevant field, such as chemical technology, analytical chemistry, process technology, environmental technology, health sciences, toxicology, environmental sciences, data science or another water-related field.
- An affinity with water technology or chemical analytical techniques. Affinity with process engineering or water treatment is an advantage.
- For the NTS-focused role: an affinity with large datasets, substance-identification questions, toxicological interpretation and risk assessment. Experience with NTS, high-resolution mass spectrometry or data analysis is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex and uncertain information into clear advice.
- A forward-looking and critical approach. You work proactively with others and share your expertise.
- A good command of Dutch, both spoken and written.
- The ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG); it will be requested upon appointment.
What you get
- A temporary one-year contract, with the intention of offering a permanent contract after one year.
- €4,239–€5,877 gross per month for full-time employment.
- A flexible employment benefits budget (FAB) equal to 15.49% of your gross monthly salary; this includes holiday pay.
- The option to purchase extra leave using the FAB and/or your gross salary. You also receive additional annual leave hours that do not expire.
- An extensive onboarding programme with a dedicated buddy, career-development opportunities, and access to courses and training.
- The possibility of working partly from home and making use of a lease car.
