The role
As a wastewater treatment technologist, you will advise on complex issues in the water sector, both when asked and proactively. You will advise regional managers on process operations at wastewater treatment plants. The work covers operational management, policy development and projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyse treatment performance and operating and process data, identify causes of suboptimal plant performance, and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to reports and the development of wastewater-treatment expertise, and keep up with national and international developments.
- Initiate, coordinate and participate in research projects, and carry out multi-year trend analyses.
- Provide technological input to complex renovation and new-build projects for wastewater treatment plants and sewage pumping stations.
- Contribute to policy for wastewater treatment, and present recommendations clearly in letters and reports for stakeholders.
Hours and offer
The vacancy lists 36–40 hours per week and also describes full-time employment as 36 hours. No shift pattern or contract type is specified. Pay is up to €6,832 per month, including the 10% arrangement that places the salary one pay scale above the scale for the role. An individual choice budget of 21% of annual salary can, for example, be paid out as additional salary. What you bring
- A completed higher-education qualification at HBO or WO level, preferably in chemical technology, process technology, environmental technology or water management.
- UTAZ and/or HTAZ training, or willingness to obtain the qualification(s).
- At least four years of experience in a comparable role.
- Affinity with office and process automation; this is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle conflicting interests and differences of opinion.
- A category B driving licence.
