Work on technical safety challenges involving ATEX and machinery at a range of client sites. Carry out risk assessments, recommend practical controls and support CE processes. Based in Alphen aan den Rijn.
The role
At a client company, you will work independently on technical safety assignments for clients in industry, engineering, installation, manufacturing and infrastructure. The role is based in Alphen aan den Rijn, Zuid-Holland. You will assess installations, work equipment, machinery and production lines, and help put practical improvements into effect.
The work is varied, and you will regularly visit client sites. One day you might assess ATEX zoning around a process installation; another, investigate how to make machinery safer or support a CE process. You will combine technical expertise with knowledge of legislation, standards and day-to-day operations.
Your work includes:
- Carrying out ATEX risk assessments and preparing explosion protection documents (EVD).
- Conducting hazardous-area classification studies for gas, vapour and dust explosion risks.
- Advising on explosion protection under ATEX 153 and ATEX 114, and assessing installations and work equipment.
- Conducting risk analyses for machinery and production lines; assessing machinery against the Machinery Directive and Machinery Regulation, and carrying out and supporting CE processes.
- Reviewing technical files, user instructions and conformity documentation.
- Advising on technical safety measures, including guards, safety functions, emergency-stop devices and control systems.
- Carrying out technical safety inspections and turning findings into clear reports, recommendations and improvement plans; supporting clients with implementation.
What you'll bring
- A technical qualification at least at MBO+/HBO level, for example in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering or a similar field.
- Preferably a completed MVK or HVK qualification, or an equivalent safety qualification.
- Knowledge of ATEX and explosion safety, as well as machinery safety and CE marking.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines, including NEN-EN-IEC 60079, NPR 7910, NEN-EN-ISO 12100, NEN-EN-ISO 13849 and NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1.
- An interest in technical installations, machinery and production processes.
- The ability to analyse technical risks and turn them into practical solutions.
- Good communication skills, the ability to work independently and a client-focused approach.
If you have strong technical knowledge but lack experience in some areas, technical insight and practical experience are also valued.
