The role

As Senior QHSE Engineer, you take ownership of the QHSE scope for assigned offshore projects, from preparation and tendering through mobilisation, execution and close-out. • Ensure effective implementation of the management system and applicable client, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise project managers, vessel management and other stakeholders, and constructively challenge decisions on QHSE risks and priorities.
  • Lead or contribute to project and operational risk assessments. Plan and conduct internal and external audits, and follow up on findings.
  • Lead or support investigations into significant incidents, identify underlying causes, and ensure effective follow-up of actions and lessons learned.
  • For vessel-related work, monitor audit findings and provide QHSE input on vessel modifications, operational changes, port calls, dockings and lay-up. Support emergency bridging documents and relevant instructions.
  • Share good practices across projects and vessels, and coach colleagues and project teams.

Your profile

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in safety, engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant QHSE experience, preferably in offshore, marine, subsea, energy or other high-risk technical project environments.
  • Demonstrable experience taking ownership of QHSE within projects or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety, risk management and management systems, with experience in incident investigation, audits and risk assessments.
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification, such as Dutch HVK/IVK, a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of relevant management systems and standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; knowledge of the ISM Code is an advantage.
  • The ability to translate legislation, standards and contractual requirements into practical operational solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. Professional proficiency in English is required; Dutch is an advantage.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership, advise, constructively challenge and make decisions, as well as coach junior colleagues.
