The role
At our client company in Velsen-Noord, Noord-Holland, you will work on occupational safety in an industrial production environment. You will act as the operational link between internal safety experts and operating units, translating safety standards into day-to-day practice. You will develop and improve safe working methods for one or more units and advise managers on lasting solutions to complex safety issues.
You will conduct risk assessments, keep the risk register up to date and drive corrective and preventive actions. Through workplace observations and compliance checks, you will help ensure safe working practices, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and contractor safety. You will prepare the organisation for emergencies through exercises, support an effective incident response, and report and investigate incidents.
You will set your own approach and build specialist expertise, working closely with unit managers, internal experts and external stakeholders.

What you bring
- A university-level degree and a Hoger Veiligheidskundige (HVK) qualification.
- Several years of relevant occupational safety experience, ideally in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation, risk assessment and safety management.
- The ability to analyse complex issues and develop lasting solutions.
- Tactical, situation-aware communication skills and the ability to build support and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently, shape your own approach, assess and prioritise risks, and make decisions.
- The ability to engage people in safe working practices.
