An experienced lead analyst is sought for a microbiology laboratory in Hoogeveen. You will test food samples, coordinate analyses and lead a small team while remaining hands-on. Fixed-term contract, with the intention to offer a permanent contract subject to good performance.
The role
For our client company, a microbiology laboratory in Hoogeveen, we are looking for an experienced lead analyst. You will combine day-to-day leadership of a small team with hands-on laboratory work. You will test food samples for microorganisms using microbiological and molecular techniques.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform microbiological analyses in line with applicable work and control procedures.
- Provide technical leadership to microbiology analysts and act as the day-to-day contact for analysts and laboratory assistants.
- Work hands-on in the laboratory when needed.
- Handle team-related personnel matters, including contract changes and leave requests, in coordination with HR advisers.
- Work closely with a colleague responsible for quality and the laboratory manager.
What you bring
- A completed higher professional laboratory qualification in microbiology (HBO level).
- Several years of experience in microbiological laboratory research.
- Knowledge of real-time PCR, ISO methods and the related work processes.
- Leadership ability.
- Commercial skills or a willingness to develop them.
- An interest in working in a small team, a team-oriented approach, a sense of responsibility and a strong focus on quality.
