The role
As a senior chemical analyst specialising in contaminants, you will work in the laboratory of our client company in Barendrecht, Zuid-Holland. You will analyse raw materials, food products and animal feed for contaminants, including mycotoxins, PAHs and acrylamide, using LC/MS and GC/MS techniques.
Responsibilities
- Plan laboratory activities and projects, and monitor work procedures critically.
- Identify shortcomings in procedures and processes and resolve practical issues.
- Perform analyses and validation work to help ensure quality.
- Maintain equipment independently, troubleshoot technical issues and keep the quality system up to date.
- Keep colleagues and relevant stakeholders informed about your work.
What you bring
- A completed higher professional education (HBO) qualification in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical technology or a similar field.
- At least five years of experience as a chemical analyst in a comparable role.
- Familiarity with LC/MS, GC/MS and relevant matrices, including grain and grain products, herbs and spices, and cocoa and cocoa products.
- The ability to maintain equipment and troubleshoot independently.
- A strong quality mindset, including awareness of ISO 17025, and a critical, flexible and results-oriented approach.
- The ability to work well in a team, proficiency in Dutch and the ability to communicate in English.
