Help in een production setting in Schiedam strengthen workplace safety through daily audits, risk assessments and improvement projects. The role is 38 hours a week and pays €4,107–€4,855 gross per month.
The role
In a production environment in Schiedam, you will help strengthen the safety culture and make sure agreed procedures are followed in day-to-day work. You will be visible on the production floor, carry out daily audits and inspections, identify hazards, and address unsafe practices constructively, including the use of personal protective equipment. You will also encourage the reporting of near misses.
You will contribute to improvement projects concerning safe production processes, indoor air quality and ergonomics. You will further develop the safety management system, keep task risk analyses up to date, help establish a clear permit-to-work system, and support certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. You will also keep environmental considerations in production in view.
If there is an immediate risk, you can stop work in coordination with the team leader. You will help define measures and plan a safe restart, translating wider plans into practical steps and keeping projects moving.
What you bring
- A completed technical vocational qualification at MBO level, for example in mechanical engineering or chemistry.
- Completed MVK training.
- Several years of experience in a similar safety role in the metal, chemical or process industry.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills, and the confidence to escalate risks when needed.
- A persistent, pragmatic approach and the patience to see projects through.
Schedule and compensation
You will work 38 hours per week on a stable schedule. A four-day working week can be discussed, and Friday afternoons are free. There are no unexpected call-outs or compulsory weekend shifts.
- Gross monthly salary of €4,107–€4,855 for 38 hours a week, including 8% holiday allowance and fixed allowances.
- Annual performance bonus of 0–4%.
- 25 days of annual leave and a pension arrangement.
