Join an R&D laboratory in Hoek, Zeeland, as a full-time R&D Technologist. Work day shifts for 40 hours a week, safely operate polymer-processing equipment, plan laboratory work and support improvements to sheet extrusion lines.
The role
As an R&D Technologist, you will work in an R&D laboratory on application-focused manufacturing and processing methods for innovative materials. The role combines hands-on operational work with technical improvement activities. You will work with a range of materials, including polymers, plastics and composites. The location is Hoek, Zeeland.
Responsibilities
- Plan and safely carry out laboratory work requests.
- Operate equipment such as an injection moulding machine, sheet extruder, vacuum press and hot press.
- Oversee technical improvement work on sheet extrusion lines.
- Work with colleagues in the mechanical testing laboratory and workshop, as well as colleagues in technical service and development.
- Contribute to high-quality material solutions for industrial applications.
What you bring
- Preferably a technical bachelor's degree (for example, HBO or a professional bachelor's qualification), MBO-4 diploma or associate degree in materials production and processing, polymer technology, mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Preferably knowledge of and experience with production equipment and machinery for plastics processing.
- A willingness to learn and a hands-on approach, with an interest in applying new technologies and production techniques to process polymers, plastics and composites.
- A safety-first, problem-solving mindset. You are innovative, collaborative, decisive and analytical, communicate effectively and work well with others.
