At a food-production site in Veendam, you will lead quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management, advise management, lead the quality team and drive food safety and continuous improvement.
The role
As QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental policy at our client company in Veendam, Groningen. You will work in a food-production environment, combining operational, tactical and strategic responsibilities. You will be part of the management team and collaborate with a range of functions.
You will be visible on the production floor and ensure that quality and food-safety standards are embedded in day-to-day work.
What you will do
- Advise management on quality and food-safety processes, investments and risk assessments.
- Maintain an effective quality system and ensure compliance with legislation and certification standards.
- Conduct audits and act as the point of contact for incidents and customer quality queries.
- Lead the QA Officer and form the quality team together.
- Act when procedures are not followed and, when necessary, decide to place products on hold or stop a machine.
- Monitor developments in quality and food safety, translate them into concrete improvements and contribute to international alignment on quality standards.
You will regularly coordinate with international colleagues. Due to time differences, some meetings may take place outside regular Dutch office hours.
What you bring
- A completed higher professional or university-level degree in food technology or a comparable field.
- At least five years of relevant experience in a comparable role in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP and BRC; knowledge of IFS is an advantage.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- A decisive, energetic approach and a clear quality vision, with the ability to work independently, collaborate and think ahead.
What you get
- A one-year temporary contract for 40 hours a week, with the intention of offering a permanent contract afterwards.
- A gross monthly salary of €5,186 to €7,984 for 40 hours a week, depending on experience.
