Support marine and subsea projects from tendering through execution and close-out, providing practical QHSE and risk advice. The role is based in Delft, involves occasional travel and offers 24–32 hours per week.

The role

Our client company is looking for a QHSE Engineer to support marine and subsea operations. The role is based at an office in Delft and includes occasional travel. You will support tender and project teams from the tender stage through preparation, execution and close-out, providing practical, risk-based advice on quality, health, safety and the environment.

What you’ll do

  • Review QHSE requirements in tender documents, complete pre-qualification questionnaires and prepare client-specific QHSE submissions.
  • Identify potential compliance issues early, recommend mitigation measures and provide risk advice to commercial, operational and engineering teams.
  • Develop project-specific HSE, quality, environmental and emergency response plans; contribute to risk assessments and method statements (RAMS); facilitate and document hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) sessions; and follow up actions.
  • Prepare project HSE inductions and onboarding for project personnel, including subcontractors; coordinate emergency drills with Field HSE Engineers.
  • Support the Management of Change (MoC) and Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) processes, stay aligned with Field HSE Engineers on daily HSE matters and give ad hoc guidance to project teams.
  • Collect, maintain and analyse QHSE statistics, improve data collection and analysis methods, and contribute to the wider QHSE strategy and improvement roadmap.
  • Support continuous improvement, including preparation for ISO 14001 certification and other relevant standards, and work with the QA/QC Engineer to improve quality control.
  • Facilitate lessons-learned meetings at project close-out and follow up improvement actions.

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in HSE, engineering, environmental sciences or an equivalent field.
  • Familiarity with the maritime and/or subsea sector is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills, with the ability to influence and advise operational and engineering teams.
  • A flexible, hands-on approach, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • You already have the legal right to live and work in the EU without sponsorship. This is a mandatory requirement.

What is offered

  • 24–32 hours per week, with flexible working hours.
  • Hybrid and remote-work options.
  • A supportive, international and collaborative environment with internal training and development opportunities.
  • A competitive salary package (amount not specified), plus travel and pension allowances.
  • Contract details are not specified.
