Help strengthen practical QHSE practices in Alkmaar. Turn regulations into clear working arrangements, support audits and improve safety and processes across the office and project sites.
The role
At our client company in Alkmaar, North Holland, you will help ensure that quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management (QHSE) are part of everyday work—not just documented procedures. This is a hybrid role, combining office work with visits to project sites. You will connect office colleagues, project teams and managers. Existing foundations are in place, with scope to improve processes, build internal QHSE expertise and reduce reliance on external advisers.
Your responsibilities
- Translate relevant legislation and certification requirements into clear, practical arrangements.
- Support audits and certification processes, monitor improvement actions and follow up on agreements.
- Visit project sites, discuss risks with technicians, supervisors and project teams, and intervene when conditions are unsafe.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and turn lessons learned into improvements.
- Map and improve processes as a new ERP system and further digitalization change the way of working; identify gaps between systems and day-to-day practice.
What you bring
- A completed higher professional education qualification (HBO).
- Preferably around three years of comparable experience in a QHSE, quality or safety role.
- Experience working in project- and process-oriented teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, with an affinity for quality, occupational health and safety, and the environment.
- An analytical, careful and decisive approach. You work independently, connect easily with people, communicate clearly and bring others along through change.
- Experience in the construction and installation sector is an advantage.
What is offered
- An independent, varied role with scope to influence the further development of QHSE.
- A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
- Salary in line with your knowledge and experience.
- 25 days of annual leave plus 13 additional working-time reduction days (ATV).
- A good pension plan and profit-sharing.
- Training and development opportunities, personal guidance and team activities.
