QHSE advisor in Montfoort: turn legislation, standards and risks into practical solutions, support project teams, investigate incidents and guide audits. HVK, VCA VOL and QHSE experience are sought. Permanent contract, with full-time or part-time options.
The role
As a QHSE Advisor in Montfoort, Utrecht, you turn legislation, standards and risks into ways of working that are effective in practice. You are visible at the production site and at project locations, supporting colleagues, managers, project teams and subcontractors. You help make safe, healthy and quality-focused work part of everyday practice, not just written policy. The role combines QHSE expertise with the ability to influence others.
Responsibilities
- Identify and analyse QHSE risks and advise on RI&E and (T)RA risk assessments.
- Advise and support project teams and subcontractors at project locations, helping QHSE policy, safety standards and quality requirements be applied across the organisation and supply chain.
- Investigate incidents and near misses and turn findings into preventive measures.
- Translate relevant legislation and standards into practical policy.
- Carry out and guide workplace inspections, walkarounds and safety walks.
- Coordinate, guide and conduct internal and external audits, including audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, VCA and SCL.
- Develop and support toolbox talks, safety alerts and workshops.
- Analyse performance, deviations and trends and turn them into concrete improvements.
- Advise management, project teams and colleagues on QHSE matters. Help foster an open safety culture where people speak up and continuous improvement is part of day-to-day work.
- In a more senior version of the role, provide subject-matter coaching to QHSE colleagues and coordinate QHSE colleagues and improvement projects.
What you bring
- HBO-level thinking and working ability, plus training as a Higher Safety Expert (HVK).
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
- VCA VOL.
- Knowledge of construction and/or technical processes.
- QHSE experience; experience in a technical, construction, industrial or project-led environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex topics into practical, clear guidance.
- For a more senior appointment: extensive knowledge of environmental legislation, the Omgevingswet/BAL and relevant standards. Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, VCA and SCL, as well as experience with complex incident investigations, audits and organisation-wide improvement programmes, is also important.
- Auditor training or demonstrable audit experience is an advantage.
You are encouraged to apply even if you do not meet every point, provided you recognise yourself in the role and can contribute through your experience.
