In Waddinxveen, Zuid-Holland, inspect fruit and vegetables for quality and food safety. Carry out checks and temperature measurements, record findings and coordinate deviations with production, warehouse and commercial teams.
The role
As a QC Officer, you help ensure that fruit and vegetables meet quality and food safety requirements from receipt through dispatch. You assess products against product specifications and customer requirements, helping to maintain consistent quality and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do
- Inspect incoming containers and shipments, outgoing products and orders before dispatch. Carry out quality checks during production as well.
- Assess colour, ripeness, firmness, size, physical damage, mould or decay, and temperature.
- Take samples for quality and food safety testing, and perform and monitor temperature measurements.
- Record inspection results and findings accurately in the relevant systems and reports.
- Check products against customer requirements and applicable certification standards, including BRCGS, IFS, GlobalG.A.P. and SKAL.
- Work with production, warehouse and commercial teams to address quality issues. Discuss deviations with buyers and account managers.
- Identify deviations early and advise production teams on sorting, grading or repacking products.
- Support internal and external audits, and monitor hygiene and food safety compliance on the shop floor.
