About the role
As an onshore QHSE Officer, you will support the maritime department of our client company on quality, health, safety and environmental matters. You will manage certifications, prepare and coordinate audits, and maintain and improve the management system. You will turn requirements from standards, clients and applicable legislation into clear procedures and practical working arrangements. You will work with colleagues in the office, on board vessels and at project sites. Your base is Vijfhuizen, with occasional visits to vessels and project sites.
What you will do
- Manage and monitor company, vessel and project certifications, including validity, renewals and supporting documentation.
- Prepare, plan and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections.
- Record and follow up on audit findings, non-conformities and improvement actions.
- Maintain and improve the QHSE management system, procedures and records.
- Liaise with certification bodies, inspection bodies and other relevant parties.
- Support colleagues with QHSE matters and the practical implementation of procedures.
- Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and project documentation.
- Identify relevant changes to standards and regulations and help incorporate them into operations.
What you bring
- An affinity with the maritime sector and an understanding of day-to-day operations on board.
- Seagoing experience or a maritime or technical educational background is a strong advantage.
- Experience in QHSE, certifications, audits or document control, or a willingness to develop your expertise in these areas.
- A thorough approach to documentation, ensuring it is complete, up to date and easy to retrieve.
- The ability to translate requirements and procedures into practical solutions for colleagues.
- A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- A relevant qualification or knowledge of quality management or occupational safety is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Marad software is an advantage.
- You are accurate and well organised, communicate clearly and are approachable.
- You are proactive and self-reliant, take a practical and solution-oriented approach, and can maintain an overview and meet deadlines.
