Work on synthetic DNA production in Nijmegen, carrying out synthesis, purification and quality-control tasks and preparing products for shipment. Full-time role, 40 hours per week.
The role
You will work on the production of synthetic DNA (oligonucleotides), used in applications including PCR, sequencing, diagnostics and biotechnological research. Based in Nijmegen, Gelderland, you will support the production process from synthesis through to preparing products for shipment.
Your responsibilities
- Perform DNA synthesis and post-process samples.
- Check yields using a plate reader and spectrophotometer.
- Purify DNA using HPLC and gel electrophoresis.
- Carry out quality control using LC and MS.
- Prepare products for shipment.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including DNA synthesizers and automated liquid-handling systems.
What you bring
- At least MBO-level education, plus an MLO diploma or an equivalent qualification in chemistry or molecular biology.
- At least six months of laboratory work experience or an internship.
- An accurate and precise approach to work.
- Basic knowledge of pipetting, molecular calculations and DNA techniques.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- English is required; you will work in an international team.
- Experience with DNA synthesis is an advantage, but not essential. Training is provided on the job.
