The role
You will join our client company in Woerden, Utrecht, a specialized laboratory in the food industry with a strong focus on microbiology. As laboratory team leader, you will work with senior analysts to manage and plan the team's daily work. You will provide structure, safeguard quality and foster positive team dynamics. You will work alongside the team and take on HR-related responsibilities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the laboratory team's daily management and planning with senior analysts.
- Coaching, motivating, assessing and developing colleagues while working alongside the team.
- Optimizing workflows and sample flow, and leading improvement projects.
- Monitoring the quality of analyses through internal controls and follow-up.
- Managing stock, placing orders and assessing suppliers.
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer service regarding complaints, and ensuring appropriate follow-up and preventive measures.
- Working with the quality department on internal audits.
- Conducting interviews to help expand the team.
- Working with management on strategic objectives, team development and process optimization.
What you bring
- A completed HLO/HBO qualification in microbiology, medical biology, chemistry or a related laboratory discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of laboratory experience.
- Experience as a team leader, hands-on supervisor, or senior analyst with coordination responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to work with different personalities.
- Experience leading people and optimizing work processes.
- An efficient, quality-focused approach and experience with process optimization.
- Excellent spoken and written Dutch; English is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of microbiological analyses and experience with LIMS are a plus.
