The role
As a junior HSE officer, you will support our client company in promoting safe and healthy working practices in construction. You will learn on the job with guidance from an experienced colleague and regularly visit construction sites. The role is based in Lelystad, Flevoland. You will develop step by step towards becoming an operational safety professional.
Responsibilities
- Advise site managers and brief employees on health and safety.
- Support workplace inspections, internal audits and safety rounds.
- Help prepare V&G plans and task risk analyses (TRAs), and update safety documents.
- Assist with toolbox talks and safety campaigns.
- Record and follow up reports, inspections and improvement actions.
- Learn to identify risks, contribute to improvement proposals, and prepare safety instructions and reports.
What you bring
- An MVK diploma or current enrolment in an MVK training programme.
- An interest in safety, health and wellbeing in construction.
- Experience as a safety professional is not essential; an internship or relevant practical experience is an advantage.
- A willingness to learn, a proactive approach and confidence speaking to colleagues about safe behaviour.
- A structured way of working, comfort with being visible on construction sites, and the ability to work methodically both independently and as part of a team.
