As a Junior Environmental & Sustainability Engineer, you will support HSE and sustainability work through design reviews, audits, inspections, incident investigations and reporting, coordinating with several engineering disciplines across multiple small projects.
The role
As a Junior Environmental & Sustainability Engineer, you will apply engineering knowledge and processes to environmental and sustainability issues and help foster a safe, productive work environment. You will work in the HSE engineering team at our client company, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, HSE engineers and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Examine design reviews, calculations and models of moderate complexity.
- Promote HSE standards and goals through programs that support a safe and productive work environment.
- Take part in surveys, audits, evaluations, inspections and incident investigations; monitor HSE standards and goals, and collect and document environmental data.
- Prepare, update, maintain and retrieve records, reports and documents needed to meet internal or regulatory requirements.
- Understand project objectives and apply them throughout your work.
- Organize several smaller projects and tasks in parallel, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Follow and support applicable HSE and sustainability policies.
What you bring
- Authorization to work in the country where the role is based.
- A bachelor's, master's or equivalent engineering degree.
- 0–2 years of work-related experience.
- Fluency in Dutch and English; German is an advantage.
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel.
- Experience with Scrum, Lean or Agile methodologies, or willingness to learn them in practice.
- Willingness to connect with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Preferably based in Europe.
- Willingness to work on several smaller projects in parallel.
- Intermediate ability with professional software, as required.
