Use your HSE expertise in process safety, BRZO and regulatory compliance at a chemical production site in Farmsum, Groningen. Permanent contract and gross annual base salary of €66,000–€105,000, including holiday allowance.
The role
As an HSE Specialist, you will support the client company in Farmsum, Groningen, on health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance matters. You will advise on developing, improving and implementing policies and procedures, focusing on process safety and BRZO, the Dutch framework for preventing major industrial accidents. You will work with internal and external stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Track changes to and new legislation, coordinate implementation with the organization and other HSE specialists, and help ensure consistent application at the site.
- Maintain a system and work process for identifying and implementing new or amended requirements, and monitor compliance with HSE rules.
- Keep the safety report up to date and coordinate its five-yearly submission to the authorities.
- Lead preparations for regulatory audits and government inspections related to process safety and BRZO. Ensure documentation is in order and support departments in drafting formal responses to audit and inspection reports.
- Assess and follow up on reports of deviations and risk situations related to process safety. Coordinate and manage the process-safety framework.
- Set up safety improvement initiatives, advise and guide colleagues, organize HSE training, and contribute to larger projects.
What you bring
- HSE experience focused on process safety; BRZO experience is preferred.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree and several years of relevant industry experience.
- A completed HVK qualification, the Dutch Higher Safety Expert qualification.
- A decisive approach, the ability to work at policy level and translate policy into practical measures on the shop floor.
- The ability to work on projects and contribute to larger projects.
- The ability to advise and guide colleagues on HSE matters and technical studies, and to set up training.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
