Support project teams at different sites, coach staff and strengthen HSE compliance. Full-time, on-site in Westerbork; €3,500–€5,000 per month.
The role
As an HSE Officer, you will support the client company's teams at multiple project sites. You will be visible on site, coach employees and help ensure that HSE processes and agreements are followed. You will report to the project manager and work closely with the project teams and the HSE organization.
Responsibilities
- Promote an HSE leadership program and support and coach project teams on HSE matters.
- Prepare and facilitate weekly HSE and permit-to-work (PTW) meetings.
- Deliver on-site HSE inductions for employees and visitors; check that personnel, visitors and working hours are recorded accurately.
- Organize and lead HSE and emergency drills.
- Carry out site inspections and audits and manage HSE documentation, records and reports.
- Monitor and report HSE performance, including statistics, waste streams and fuel consumption.
- Support incident investigations and collect evidence.
- Carry out gas, benzene, mercury and LSA/NORM measurements.
- Manage emergency-response and HSE equipment and take an active role in the site's emergency-response organization.
What you bring
- At least five years of HSE experience in the energy or industrial sector.
- Good knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and best practices.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently and move easily between project teams.
- An MVK, HVK, NEBOSH or OSHA certification is an advantage.
- Relevant HSE training and certifications are preferred, or you should be willing to obtain them: VCA-VOL; life-saving safety rules training; NOGEPA 0.8 (H₂S); working at height and rescue at height; emergency-response training; TMS Norm (Radiation Protection Supervisor); NOGEPA 1.4 (gas measurement); dangerous-substances training.
