The role
Our client company in Geleen is looking for an HSE Officer to help improve safety, health and environmental performance. You will act as an independent, visible and approachable adviser, supporting risk control, compliance and continuous improvement in a production or industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen the HSE culture by setting a good example, engaging and coaching employees, and turning findings into practical improvement actions.
- Lead local HSE meetings and represent HSE in other meetings and projects.
- Deliver training and toolbox talks on safety, health and environmental practices.
- Develop and test emergency plans and advise on suitable personal protective equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare TRAs, keep the RI&E up to date and provide HSE input to MOC processes.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and work instructions.
- Prepare for and support audits, carry out inspections and review compliance with HSE standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify root causes and follow up corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE records and reports, track actions, and support environmental initiatives and permit compliance.
What you bring
- An MVK diploma or a completed qualification relevant to HSE.
- HSE experience in a production or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of HSE systems, structures and behavioural standards.
- Demonstrable experience with audits, HSE processes such as RI&E, MOC, RCA and TRA, and preparing safe-work instructions.
- Knowledge of and experience with Dutch permitting systems.
- Good spoken and written Dutch and English.
- You are a visible, approachable HSE professional with strong communication skills who can persuade, coach and engage colleagues.
- You are results-focused, proactive and solution-oriented, take initiative, work independently and bring people together around safety.
