Help maintain safe working practices in production halls in Oudewater. Carry out safety rounds, identify risks and follow up improvements. Full-time role; salary €3,000–€4,000 per month, depending on experience.
The role
You are a visible presence on the production floor every day in Oudewater, Utrecht. You observe work and assess whether tasks are actually carried out safely, not just whether rules, procedures and work instructions are followed. You pay particular attention to risks involving lifting operations, machinery and work equipment, internal transport and other production activities.
- Carry out and record safety rounds, maintaining an active presence on the shop floor.
- Check tasks, work areas, equipment and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Identify, assess and record unsafe situations and actions, intervening when necessary.
- Address employees and subcontractors clearly and respectfully about unsafe behaviour, and give practical safety instructions.
- Record incidents and near misses and follow them up.
- Check that agreed improvement measures are put into practice.
- Lead toolbox talks and work with managers and the QHSE coordinator or advisor to manage risks and make lasting improvements.
What you bring
- MBO-level education and practical capability.
- Preferably an Operational Safety Officer (OVK) qualification or demonstrably equivalent knowledge.
- Practical understanding of occupational safety and safe working practices in production and assembly environments.
- Knowledge of safe lifting, work equipment, machinery, internal transport and working at height is an advantage; a willingness to develop this knowledge quickly is also welcome.
- Good communication and persuasion skills. You can identify risks, explain what needs to change and follow actions through.
- A proactive, independent and persistent approach. You address others respectfully but firmly when safety requires it.
- A careful, quality-focused way of working and a willingness to learn, receive feedback and apply it.
- Relevant experience is an advantage, but not essential. You do not need to know everything already; taking responsibility and caring about others’ safety are important.
