Help assure the quality of coating and paintwork on custom-built yachts in Aalsmeer. Carry out inspections and measurements, document deviations and advise on improvements. 32–40 hours per week; €3,500–€5,000 gross per month.

The role

At our client company in yacht building in Aalsmeer, you oversee the quality of coating and paintwork during the finishing of custom-built yachts. You carry out inspections on board and at other locations, liaise with skilled tradespeople and support inspections. Some inspections take place abroad.

You check that work meets agreed specifications, quality standards and applicable laws and regulations. You assess paintwork, the smoothness of filler work and the overall visual finish.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect the coating process and perform measurements such as coating thickness, gloss and DOI.
  • Carefully record measurement data, inspections and deviations, and prepare quality and rejection reports.
  • Advise managers, colleagues and external parties on materials, techniques, measurement methods and production-process improvements.
  • Support independent paint inspectors and help determine whether the work can proceed to the next construction phase.

Working hours

The working week is 32, 36 or 40 hours, with flexible start times between 06:00 and 09:00. The schedule may include day, late and weekend shifts. Inspections and sign-offs may also take place in the evening, at weekends or on public holidays.

What you bring

  • At least five years of relevant work experience; quality-control experience in shipbuilding or yacht building is preferred.
  • Knowledge of coatings, painting processes, quality standards and measuring instruments.
  • Good spoken and written Dutch and English.
  • Willingness to work at other locations; some inspections may take place abroad.
  • NACE, FROSIO and RMCI certifications, or willingness to complete relevant vocational training and courses.
  • A careful approach and high quality standards. You can independently analyse technical deviations and propose concrete improvements.
  • Clear, approachable communication, sound judgement and the ability to explain the basis for your advice.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours.

What is offered

  • Gross monthly salary of €3,500 to €5,000, depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • A working week of 32, 36 or 40 hours.
  • 40 days off per year for full-time employment: 27 holiday days and 13 additional days off.
  • A fixed monthly net travel allowance for commuting, calculated at €0.25 per kilometre.
  • A pension scheme to which the employer contributes a large part of the premium.
  • Training and courses relevant to your field and professional development.
  • Varied, independent work with a visible contribution to the finishing of custom-built yachts.
